Default For the degen necroes...why +10 degen is good

You're thinking "OK, if I want to degen, all I need are skills that equal up to -10!" - wrong. When your opponent is hexed with skills that equal -10 degen, they're most likely to counter it with health regen. This is where the extra degen comes in handy. If your skills = -16 health degen for example, and your opponent uses healing breeze for +7 health regen, it would look like this:

16-7=9 (9 health degen)

-With that much degen, they're still going for -9 degen, which completely counters their regen.

It's unnecessary and wasteful. It takes a Necro atleast 2-3 skill slots (3-4 without an Elite degen spell) to achieve max degen. No point in wasting more on extra degen.

Well to an extent everyone is right. If your on one target only, AND they have a regen skill or spell(monster regen, mending, breeze etc) then perhaps you have a valid point for trying to get over the 10.
I tend to favor Zingers take more though. After all its a team game so you can get some bleeding or poison or illusion hex from a teammate to help the push. Even moreso though, where there is more than one target just getting -6 on both of them is more degen output then -10 on any character. It only takes -4 on 3 all of which are much easier. There's a reason Suffering costs 15 Energy.
In short, yes you can "bank" some degen to counter any attempted regen by your target to make damn sure they stay at -20hp per second. Like Osi Ri S though I'm not sure if this is really a revelation to anyone. It's (nearly)always more effective/efficient to spread a steady wave of degen to multiple targets vs. focused degen capping on one target.

I thought people remove such annoyances rather than covering them up.

Blessed Light = 1 hex and 1 condition removed.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Healing Signet will be able to heal the damage done by -10 health degen.

Antidote Signet, Melandru's Resilience and Troll Unguent will make short work of your -16 health degen.

The best way to counter any health degen is to remove the cause, not just cover it up. Remove the cause and nothing else bad can happen. (See the spell Discord for badness).

the trick to kill something with degen is to use high degen with damage. something like life transfer, life siphon, lifebane strike, shadow strike (just an example). its hard to counter degen on top of damage.

I dont think Degen should be a main dmg...in 1 on 1 scrimmages in my guild I run a build like this,
1)Shadow strike
2)Vamp Gaze
3)Dark Pact
4)Life Siphon
5)Life Transfer
6)Optional
7)Optional
8)Oprional
First I throw the degen on as an annoyance then spike them to death sometimes I bring Faintheartedness for even more annoyance but its not my main dmg. Degen should never be your main dmg if it is then you probly dont when that much in battles. Degen is to annoy and to destract because someone will put HB on and will worry about the degen while I do alot of dmg to that person.

Antidote signet doesnt work on hexes, melandru's resilience is not commonly used, troll ungent is used a lot, but you will still suffer degen in this case, and with 3 second activation time prone to interupts. (you do nothing in the mean time as well. Healing signet same story, 2.75 seconds u will be busy doing noting, so half of your time is wasted on healing yourself. Dehexing or regen spells are the only good options.

Why blessed light is nice but not enough? A coverhex like parasitic bond cost less energy and has better recharge.

Regen spells are not an option, removed easily. Anitdote signet is ment on Poison and disease and blindness (all at once). MR may not be commonly used, but then again, it does exist.

Prone to interupts, yes, but then again, trying to cast health degen is also prone to interupts from a Ranger, so once more, not getting into a situation where you are subjected to -10 health degen is the same as removing the cause, and not just the covering up the problem.

PB is fast to cast and recharge, but then again if you plan to bring only 1 hex removal, then bring Holy Veil instead.
